Ben Diller

Ben (Benjamin) Diller is an artist and educator whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses sculpture, installation, drawing and painting. He earned a B.F.A. in painting, with a minor in sculpture, from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1992 and an M.F.A. in 2002 from the University of California, Davis. His work draws on observational drawing, memory and forms encountered in both natural and constructed environments. Combining found and fabricated elements, Diller creates objects that explore the relationship between craftsmanship, visual perception and implied function. While at UC Davis, he taught sculpture and drawing. He later began a career at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he has served as an instructor, drawing coordinator and undergraduate coordinator in the Department of Visual Art and Design.
