Artist and UC Davis alum Sandra Shannonhouse — widow of first-generation faculty member Robert Arneson — along with Arneson’s son Kirk, established the Robert Arneson Archive in 1992. A labor of love and legacy, the archive holds the most complete records of Arneson’s studio practice, including logs detailing his process and materials, as well as an extensive inventory of images of his work. Following years of digitization and organization, the archive is now a vital resource for scholars, curators and researchers looking to gain insight into Arneson’s ongoing impact as an artist and educator.

Longtime leaders, volunteers and donors Carol and Gerry Parker have contributed to the UC Davis community in countless ways. As one of the Manetti Shrem Museum’s first advisory board members, and our first co-president, Carol has been a champion of UC Davis’ arts legacy. Together, the Parkers have extended access to art for all through their generous support of the museum’s digitization project in collaboration with UC Davis Library. They are recipients of UC Davis’ 2022 Charles J. Soderquist Award and the 2017 Cal Aggie Alumni Association’s Friend of the University Award.
