Dyani White Hawk is a multidisciplinary artist based in Minneapolis. Her practice is strongly rooted in painting and beadwork, but extends into sculpture, installation, video and performance, reflecting upon cross-cultural experiences through the amalgamation of influences from Lakota and Euro/American abstraction. A mid-career survey, Dyani White Hawk: Love Language, co-organized by the Walker Art Center and Remai Modern, opens at Remai Modern April 25. White Hawk is the spring quarter spotlight artist in residence in The California Studio: Manetti Shrem Artist Residencies.
