Jodi Connelly

Jodi Connelly is an interdisciplinary artist whose site-specific installations, sculpture, drawing and photography explore the complex relationship between people and the natural environment. She earned a B.F.A. in Art from East Carolina University and an M.F.A. in 2018 from the University of California, Davis. Her practice investigates ecological change, human intervention and the histories embedded in landscapes, often incorporating plants, soil, clay and materials gathered directly from the land. For her UC Davis thesis project, An Intervention in Space and Time (2017–2018), Connelly spent a year removing invasive plants and reintroducing native vegetation at the university's McLaughlin Natural Reserve. The project received the 2018 Keister & Allen Art Purchase Prize.
