Linda Louise Horning is a San Francisco-based artist whose practice bridges fine art, decorative painting and architectural design. She earned her M.F.A. in studio art from the University of California, Davis, in 1977, during a period of experimentation across artistic disciplines. Over a career spanning several decades, Horning has specialized in murals, ornamental painting, gilding, woodgraining and decorative architectural finishes, collaborating with leading Bay Area interior designers. Her work ranges from intricate painted surfaces and trompe-l'œil effects to large-scale installations that transform architectural environments. She contributed to the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, including a 2014 project inspired by traditional Portuguese azulejo tiles and a 2016 ceiling mural featuring a photorealistic eye. Her work was also included in Pattern Language (2015–16), a group exhibition of women artists at DZINE Gallery in San Francisco.
