Lynda Frese (b. 1956) is an American photographer, painter and printmaker whose work explores relationships among the human figure, landscape, spirituality and the natural world. Frese lived in California’s Sacramento Valley from 1976 to 1986, earning her B.F.A. (1978) and her M.F.A. (1986) from the University of California, Davis. Her early experiments with photography and gelatin silver printing evolved into a mixed-media practice combining photography, collage, printmaking and egg tempera. In 1986, she joined the faculty of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she taught photography for 30 years and is now professor emerita.
