Sondra Diepen (born c. 1941) is an American photographer and educator whose work documents the changing landscapes and cultural history of the Southwest. Raised in rural California, Diepen earned an M.A. in 1965 from the University of California, Davis, where she studied with Wayne Thiebaud, Robert Arneson and William T. Wiley. After teaching elementary school in California, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1974 and continued teaching until her retirement in 1998. She developed a photographic practice focused on abandoned buildings, forgotten communities, roadside attractions and the remnants of earlier generations. In 2024, she published Route 66 New Mexico: A Visual Tour, combining more than 200 photographs with historical accounts of the state's iconic highway.
